Thira, According to My Camera Roll
Summer days of swimming, colour, sunsets and a little inspiration.
The Beaches
I keep hearing that Santorini doesn’t have beaches.
Interesting.
We have volcanic rocks, ridiculously deep water, very good swimming and approximately 700 shades of blue.
Mesa Pigadia, Kampia, Koloumbo, my summer rotation.
At Mesa Pigadia, the quieter corners still feel almost untouched. And by early evening, the catamarans begin gathering offshore before heading out for their sunset tours.
The Colours
I don't think I will ever get tired of photographing Thira.
The volcanic black and grey against the blue. White walls in the afternoon sun. Faded colours. The sky changing by the minute.
Somehow, the island manages to look completely different every time I pick up my camera.
The Bookstore
My excuse to disappear for an hour.
I rarely go looking for anything specific. I browse, find something that catches my eye, and inevitably leave with a new idea.
It's one of those places that feeds the work without actually feeling like work.
Atlantis Bookstore, FirostefaniSunset, Obviously
Native Eco Villas for the view.
Then Navagio Bar for a drink.
Because apparently one sunset is not enough.
What I Actually Wore
The Tidal Bangle and my rings made it through most of the summer, usually somewhere between the sea, a sunset and whatever the day turned into.
And the Pyra Necklace was probably the most worn piece of the season.
Not styled. Just lived in.
This Summer
Mostly swimming.
A lot of blue, a few good sunsets, books, drinks and jewellery that rarely left my neck or wrists.
Until the next swim.
